These symptoms may mean that hospice care is appropriate.
If you or your loved one are not pursuing cure-oriented care but instead are ready for aggressive management of comfort, hospice care is worth considering.
There is a hospice rule that your physician must certify that life-expectancy is 6 months or less if the illness runs its 'normal' course. This, however, is only an estimate. Many hospice patients live longer than 6 months. For some patients, their physical condition actually improves, and we discharge them from our services.
If you're not sure whether you qualify for or even want hospice care, call us. We'll come, at no cost to you, and help you make a decision. Whether or not you choose hospice care, it's important to us that you have the best possible quality of life.
